- July 2000. Incorporated as C Corp (GA).
- January 2001. First patents (U.S & European core patents) filed.
- February 2001-January 2002. The Resource Forum New Enterprise Award for 2001 (to 3Ti): “A novel device for rapid, completely automated blood compatibility testing.” Cash and business services awards valued at $65,000 sponsored by an Atlanta-area small business incubator/accelerator to promote innovation and entrepreneurial activities. The 3Ti application was selected as the most promising and fundable business plan of the approximately 70 entries received.
- October 2000 – September 2001. Georgia Research Alliance/ATDC Faculty Research Commercialization Program: “Novel devices for completely automated diagnostic blood bank testing.” $60,000.
- September 2001 – August 2002. National Institutes of Health Small Business Technology Transfer Program (STTR) Phase I Grant “Novel devices for rapid blood compatibility testing.” $100,000.
- December 2001 – May 2002. Department of Defense, Defense Applied Research Projects Agency (DARPA): “Rapid, automated, multi-parameter blood testing.” $72,276.
- December 2002 – November 2005. National Institutes of Health, Small Business Technology Transfer Program (STTR) Phase II grant: “Novel devices for rapid blood compatibility testing.” $500,000.
- August 2003 – July 2005. National Institutes of Health Small Business Technology Transfer Program (STTR) Phase I Grant: “Development of a laboratory test for TTP”. $106,860.
- November 2003 – January 2005. National Institutes of Health, Small Business Technology Transfer Program (STTR) Phase I grant: “Rapid quantitation of residual WBCs in filtered blood.” $99,999.
- September 2006 – August 2007. National Institutes of Health, Small Business Technology Transfer program (STTR) Phase I grant: “Automated high-throughput detection of anti-HLA antibodies to prevent TRALI.” $100,000.
- November 2006. 3Ti wins prestigious “Early-stage Company Shoot-out” competition at SE Bio Investor Forum in Atlanta, GA among 15 early-stage companies invited to participate in the competition at SEBIO.
- December 2006. Company hires outside President, CEO with extensive start-up, medical device experience.
- February 2007. Company reorganizes as interim Limited Liability Corporation (LLC) until close of Series A financing.
- March 2007. 3Ti wins Venture Capital Investment Competition (VCIC) held at GA Tech and involving 8 MBA entrepreneurial teams evaluating 3Ti along with 4 other start-ups. Of the eight MBA VC teams selecting one of the 5 presenting companies for their investment, 4 of 8 teams picked 3Ti.
- March 2007. Second of 15 filed patents (1st U.S. patent) issues.
- July 2007. Company raises over $300K in financings via an interim bridge seed round and GA Research Alliance Phase IIIA investment award. Funds designed to accelerate Aegis development ahead of close of Series A financing.
- August 2007. 3Ti selected as one of 12 “main-stage” companies among some 60 applicants to present at prestigious SEBIO Investor Forum in Pinehurst, NC in November 2007.
- October 2007. New outside COO with extensive prior blood bank and flow cytometry experience joins 3Ti.
- October 2007. Office of Naval Research “Rapid, automated, pre-transfusion testing: Type, crossmatch, and pathogen detection.” $530,000.
- November 2007. Company meets with FDA in Washington, DC in a pre-IDE (Type B) meeting to review preliminary plans associated with an upcoming clinical study on its Aegis Automated Blood Analyzer and System.
- November 2007. Company establishes an Advisory Board made up of seven distinguished individuals with extensive transfusion/blood banking experiences.
